Garden Fix Lab Editorial Policy

Last updated: August 30, 2026

Garden Fix Lab publishes educational gardening content designed to help readers identify likely causes of plant and garden problems and choose sensible next steps. Accuracy, clarity, usefulness, and safety take priority over publishing volume.

How we structure problem-solving articles

  • Quick diagnosis: the most likely explanations are stated early.
  • Symptoms and clues: visible signs are used to narrow the diagnosis.
  • Likely causes: common explanations are separated from less common possibilities.
  • Practical fixes: actions are presented in a usable order.
  • Prevention: articles explain how to reduce the chance of recurrence.

Sources and review

When a topic benefits from outside verification, we prioritize horticultural extension services, universities, government and public-agency resources, peer-reviewed or professionally reviewed horticultural information, and product labels or manufacturer documentation for product-specific instructions. Sources are selected for relevance to the claim being made.

Digital tools, including AI-assisted tools, may be used to help organize research, draft structures, or improve editing efficiency. They are not treated as an authority by themselves. Content is reviewed for usefulness, internal consistency, unsupported claims, and fit with the Garden Fix Lab editorial format before publication.

Safety and regulated products

Where fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or similar products are discussed, readers should follow the current product label, local laws, application restrictions, harvest intervals, protective-equipment instructions, and any guidance relevant to children, pets, pollinators, or edible crops. A website article does not replace the legal product label.

Corrections and updates

Gardening recommendations change as products, regulations, research, and best practices change. We may revise articles for accuracy, clarity, seasonality, or better supporting information. If you identify a factual error or a materially outdated recommendation, please use our Contact page.

Commercial independence

Advertising or affiliate relationships do not determine our editorial conclusions. When a material commercial relationship applies, we aim to disclose it clearly. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
